Introducing our department.

Established in 1987 as the first Newspaper and Broadcasting Department in the Southeast, and reorganized in 2016 into the Department of Media and Communication, the department explores the communication phenomena realized in various media.

The course provides theoretical research and practical training in planning and production techniques for a variety of media content, from traditional media such as broadcasting and newspapers to marketing activities such as advertising and PR, as well as online and reality media.

We train communication professionals who can strengthen their ability to respond to developments in digital media and communicate their competencies socially, politically, and culturally.

Educational Goals

We train communication professionals to understand the rapid pace and direction of development of the rapidly changing media environment and to lead the trend of media environment change in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Introducing Our Department's Distinctive Programs

Distinctive Program

  • School of Media Studies Introduces the department's academic societies through videos produced by undergraduate students for new students, transfer students, and pre-college students, and provides an opportunity for the target audience to select a society and gain knowledge related to their major.
  • Media Content This is the department's largest academic conference for current students in the department. It provides an opportunity for current students to demonstrate their abilities in the media fields of prose, photography, video, and print advertising.
  • Fireworks Festival This is an event where students present the video, photographic, advertising, and other works they have produced based on the theoretical and practical knowledge they have learned. Not only current students but also alumni belonging to the society will watch the fireworks display and reflect on the activities of the undergraduate students and the society.
  • Graduation Works Exhibition This event is for 3rd and 4th year undergraduates to exhibit their own work based on departmental activities. Each exhibition has a specific theme and provides an opportunity for the subject to exhibit their work, helping them to demonstrate the major-related knowledge they have gained in the department.

    Voice of reality Broadcasting SocietyThis society allows students to systematically learn and produce videos of various genres they wish to create, such as documentaries, dramas, entertainment, sitcoms, and music videos, from planning, shooting, to editing.

    Pride of The Society of Visual AestheticsThis is an academic society that allows its members to create their own stories and those of others on film and on video, from planning to shooting, with a focus on filmmaking among other visual media.

    The Power to See the World Media Matters SocietyThis society brings together members of the society who aspire to become journalists or are interested in becoming journalists to explore social issues through a variety of methods, including video, writing, and card news, to share ideas with each other, and to develop an eye for seeing the world.

    Fude Advertising Research SocietyThis society produces advertisements with public and commercial purposes. It analyzes recently published advertisements and produces visual and printed materials based on them.

    The Society of Press PhotographyThis society studies the fundamentals of photography and imaging, such as camera operation and shooting methods, and holds photo exhibitions with photographs taken by society members and evaluation exhibitions with other society members.

    ISCRAThe department's only sports activity society sponsors a variety of sports activities, including watching and participating in games.
