Introducing our department.

Public administration is basically the study of the management issues of government organizations and other public institutions.

It is a study that focuses on the exploration of what policies are, how they are created and enforced, and what factors influence such policy issues.

The goal of the Department of Public Administration is to provide students with the education they need to develop the skills they should have as managers of organizations in the long term, and in the short term, to develop the practical knowledge and skills they need to perform their jobs after employment.

Educational Goals

Provide education necessary to cultivate creative public servants who can read and actively respond to changes of the times, people with the ability to solve public problems and create public value, cultivate abilities to be equipped as managers of organizations, and cultivate practical knowledge and skills necessary to carry out their work after employment.

Introducing Our Department's Distinctive Programs

Distinctive Program

  • Operation of the National Examination Class The National Examination Class at the College of Social Sciences produces more than 8 civil servants every year. The number of students in the National Examination class is evaluated through semesterly mock examinations, language scores, attendance rate, interviews, etc. The class provides various support for study, including study rooms, video and mock examination materials, and special lectures by supervising professors.
  • Civil Service Practice Tests Assists students preparing for civil service to understand their academic level through mock exams prior to civil service examinations and helps students prepare for civil service to complement their weak points and help them in their studies with mock examinations and rank-based prizes.

    Can a graduate in Public Administration only enter the civil service?

    No. In addition to entering the civil service in government agencies, students majoring in public administration can also enter state-owned enterprises such as public corporations, public corporations, and many other government-invested institutions, as well as a wide range of Fields of Employment: private companies, banks, and others. Students can also enter graduate school and, after obtaining a master's or doctoral degree, work as researchers at research institutes and other institutions or as university professors.

    What are the advantages of the Department of Public Administration at University of Dong-A?

    Due to the nature of the Department of Public Administration, a significant number of students are in the process of preparing for civil service careers, so we provide guidance for employment by dividing our guidance into two groups: the Civil Service Exam Preparation Group and the Job Placement Preparation Group. In addition, in order to improve TOEIC scores, the submission of TOEIC score reports is mandatory and reflected in the department's selection of scholarship recipients, and the TOEIC exam is also reflected in graduation requirements. This allows students to acquire language skills.
